A SENSITIVE SURFACE
Living on the water reframes the concept of the mark. This project suggests a profound engagement with the invisible physics of the ocean.
When a vessel is at anchor, it is never truly stationary. It is engaged in a continuous, rhythmic negotiation with current, wind, and tide. The resulting patterns captured here through delicate geometries and fluid lines, are a form of involuntary cartography. They represent the "drifting" of a fixed point.
These are not merely seascapes; they are studies in the weight of air and the gravity of water. The "void as possibility," where the sea is no longer a blank space, but a surface for traces that exist only in the moment of their making. In an era obsessed with permanent digital footprints, these works celebrate the beauty of the impermanent trace, the mark that defines a space even as it disappears.
