Impermanent traces like the wake of a ship that lingers on the sea's surface, function as a threshold, a point where time becomes visible before dissolving.
My work does not attempt to fix the ephemeral, but rather to allow its transience to become language.
These traces operate as forms of inscription with no intent to endure. They are not marks meant to leave a record, but rather the residual effects of movement through the world.
My work aligns with contemporary concerns regarding temporality, materiality, and perception, where the visible exists merely as a vibration between appearance and disappearance.
A ship's wake draws without tracing a line, for its mark is never complete.It unfolds a gesture that erases itself in the very act of its creation. It reveals the energy of a body in transit, yet neither its destination nor its origin.
Liquid Intervals is a device for reading time through a medium that never repeats itself: water.
The work offers a meticulous study of impermanence through a series of slow motion videos, where the water's surface becomes a field for inscribing time.
The use of slow motion does not aim to dramatize the event, but rather to extend the interval allowing the fleeting trace to be observed as a complex phenomenon.
A form of writing without permanence, a shape in the process of vanishing from the very moment it appears.
Sound functions as a perceptual texture, it adds layers to this reading. It does not simply reproduce an atmosphere; instead, it underscores the material vibration of the event.
The light on the surface of the water, reveals the instant when the energy of movement momentarily alters the liquid landscape.
Collectively, these videos create a contemplative space, a visual meditation on the fragility of traces, on that which exists solely as a transition.
Concept: An interacting installation that uses space and time to transform the viewer from an external observer into part of the phenomenon.
